I think Tom needs to let out his feelings in a strong and passionate way. From the sounds of his letter, he’s bottling up some pretty fierce emotions. I hope this girl matches his level of intensity! Most important thing of all is finding that thing the two have in common and capitalizing on it. I want to know why Tom is falling so hard for her? Is it just that she’s beautiful? If so, I’m not sure he’ll get very far. Find the things you both really like and use that as a way to let let her know you’re serious about her. The video message should incorporate something of this nature. Some kind of common ground, something beyond just physical attraction so that Tom’s video to his crush can be more revealing and mean something more than just “I think you’re pretty.”

“Why can’t it just be as easy as it was on the blacktop? When I was in kindergarten, letting a girl know you liked her basically meant you followed her around at recess, maybe played some dodgeball or kickball with her, and then probably pulled her hair or teased her or pushed her a little. Somehow even though we were mean they always knew we liked them. I guess looking back on it, it could have been their parents telling them not to be sad and that the “mean boy” was just trying to show he cared, but I think deep down they already knew. Also why is it so easy to tell someone you hate them, but not you love them? I guess that is straying from my point. I think that Tom should be agressive and that he should prove it to this girl that he likes her. Get some balls and just tell her, or maybe you can ask her to play some dodgeball and then hit her really hard with one of those big rubber balls (also good for 4 square! Does this post make you want to play childhood games or win the girl–if yes to either then I feel my contribution was not in vain). Go for the direct hit Tom!” -DukeT
